About Kialoa

Kialoa is a Southern Cross 31, designed by Tom Gilmer and  built by C.E Ryder in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1980.  She is a full keeled. double ended, cutter rig with a stern hung rudder and tiller steering.  We have an owner "not quite" finished version that we have been adding to over the years.  She has spent most of her life not being sailed and was relaunched in 2007 after being completely gutted and rebuilt inside.  We purchased her two years later and have been slowly adding to the rebuild, furling foresail, new dodger, arch for solar panels and radar, chartplotter and other electronics in preparation for an extended offshore cruise.
